Caramel Apples for the Fall Season

With Thanksgiving just a few days away, I think it’s time to discuss one of my favorite treats of all time; Caramel Apples. The deliciously sweet and crispy apple… the warm, soft and chewy caramel… and when combined…magic.

Some people think that these treats are difficult and time consuming to make. But if fact, using caramel squares and a few simple ingredients, they can be made with relative ease.

This recipe calls for the following:

  • 6 apples
  • 6 wooden sticks
  • 1 package individually wrapped caramels
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1. Place 1 wooden stick in each apple,

2. Melt caramels, along with water, in a saucepan over low heat, stirring until melted caramels are smooth,

3. Stir in vanilla extract

4. Finally, dip each apple in the caramel and place on aluminum foil to cool.

5. Enjoy!!!

From here there are dozens of toppings and creative ways of sprucing up your apples. Whether you want to add chopped nuts or crushed oreo cookies, the possibilities are endless. And even if you love the taste of caramel apples but don’t have time to make them, then try these delicious caramel apple pops! They are sure to satisfy you caramel apple sweet tooth.
