You can also buy it in bulk to do large quanities (such as school carnivals, arts and craft shows, birthday parties, girl and boy scouts, etc). Kids of all ages love this activity. How many times have children made plain old boring sand art bottles? This is much better. They can not only eat their candy sticks, but they can create them with their own kit! Seems someone else had the same question as you - there are some other non-licorice recipes I found interesting so I included them too - here is the answer: : I'm looking for recipes for gummi candy and also for : licorice. All I've been able to find so far is : a recipe for gum drops, and another for licorice : caramels. These are the only thing I have seen: GUMMY WORM SPECIAL Make Jello according to directions on package. Let cool. Fill clear plastic tumblers with Jello. Put in a couple of gummy worms. Let Jello set until almost firm, then stick a couple of gummy worms in the top to hang slightly over the sides. Serve when Jello has completely set. GUMMY STARS 6 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry flavored gelatin dessert 2 c. boiling water 1 tbsp. fresh lemon juice Confectioners' sugar 1. In 2 quart saucepan combine gelatin and boiling water; stir to dissolve gelatin ompletely. Cook over low heat 5 minutes, stirring constantly. Remove from heat; stir in lemon juice. 2. Rinse 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan in cold water; do not dry. Pour hot gelatin mixture in wet pan; refrigerate at least 1 hour until firm. 3. Cut gelatin in star shapes, using 1 1/2 inch cutter; toss in confectioners' sugar. Store in tightly covered container in refrigerator up to 1 week. Makes about 20 pieces. LICORICE 1 can sweetened condensed milk 1 1/2 c. white Karo syrup 1 c. butter 2 c. sugar 1/2 tsp. salt Mix above and cook to 250 degrees. Stir constantly. Take away from heat and add 1 teaspoon Anise oil and black food coloring. Stir. Pour in well buttered pan. Let cool. Break in pieces. RED LICORICE CANDY 2 env. unflavored gelatin 3 pkg. cherry gelatin 4 c. cherry soda 2 tsp. anise extract Soften gelatin in 1/2 cup of cherry soda. Bring rest to a boil and dissolve gelatin. Add flavoring and pour into 9x13 pan. Refrigerate. Good luck! Return to Index |
